ART MUSIC POETRY The Poetry of Michael Langston (67) FROM MY DREAM OF YOU Though lost to me so long ago That tears for you no longer flow, You came to me in a dream last night, Arrayed in wondrous, angelic light. You sat with me and held my hand; I turned to you and then began To tell you all that's in my heart, Of all the time we've been apart. You are here; you are here again! How can I tell you or even begin To convey my joy that you are here Or restrain the flow of joyous tears? I don't want to wake or wish to leave! Let me stay with you so I'll not grieve. I'll forsake the glaring light of day And not wake up; with you I'll stay. But as Eden fell from Adam's grasp, I opened up my eyes at last... And once again like long before, The tears began to flow once more, For yet again you're lost to me! But in my dreams perchance you'll be. Copyright (C) 1997-2010 Michael Langston art-music-poetry.com
